Creator commercial terms

What Via Rafael charges, how payouts work, and what you are responsible for when you sell.

Free to publish

Building a profile, publishing free videos, featuring YouTube work and writing for the Journal cost nothing and require no payment setup. Commercial terms only apply once you sell.

Platform commission

Via Rafael retains a platform commission on eligible successful transactions. The current default rate is 15%, set by Via Rafael and shown to you in Creator Studio before you list a paid offering.

The commission is calculated and applied on our servers at the moment of payment. It cannot be altered from a browser by a creator or a customer.

Processing fees are separate

The platform commission and the payment provider's processing fees are different things and are recorded separately on every transaction. On a €100 transaction, €15 is the Via Rafael platform commission and €85 is the creator's gross share before any processing fees and taxes that apply under the payment model in use.

Via Rafael does not represent the commission as net profit, and your transaction history shows gross payment, platform commission, processing fees, tax where available, refunds and your net proceeds separately.

Payouts

Payouts are handled by our payment provider. You complete their onboarding — identity, bank and any tax information they require — directly with them. Via Rafael never collects your bank details itself.

Creator Studio shows your payout state: not configured, setup required, verification pending, ready, or restricted.

Fulfilment

You are responsible for delivering what your listing describes, within the turnaround you state. Orders awaiting action appear in Creator Studio.

You can change the status of your own orders, but you cannot alter payment amounts or historical transaction records.

Refunds and reversals

Where a refund is issued, the creator proceeds and the platform commission for that order are reversed in line with the refunded amount and recorded in your transaction history.

Commercial terms are a working draft pending legal review, and payments are not live until Via Rafael intentionally enables production configuration.
